THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS
Application Deadlines:
- Final Application Due Date: March 31
- After March 31, applications can be accepted and admissions will be on a space available basis
Step 1 (Optional): Attend Information Night: Use this form to sign up for an information session.
Step 2: Submit Complete Application (including supporting documents): Complete all aspects of the application listed on the “Application checklist” (below). Supporting documents may require you to make arrangements with your current school’s Principal, Registrar, Assistant Principal, and/or Attendance Technician.
Step 3: Application Review: Our staff will review and evaluate each application to determine whether our program is a good fit based upon the requirements.
Step 4: Short Interview: Once an application has been reviewed our staff will contact you via email to schedule a short 15 minute virtual interview to speak with the Enrollment Team. Don't be nervous! This is just to speak with your student face to face.
Step 5: Acceptance: All students who are deemed to have met the admission requirements will be put into a lottery to fill our available openings. Any student who meets our admissions requirements but is not accepted due to the lottery system will be placed on a waitlist and contacted if a spot opens up.
Step 6: Attend Mandatory New Student Orientation: Orientation will take place on the date given to you in the Admission Letter received by our staff. If you cannot attend the orientation date due to extenuating circumstances then please let our secretary know as soon as possible.
Step 7: Complete Moorpark Unified Enrollment Process: This process will be detailed during the New Student Orientation.
Step 8: Apply to Moorpark College: This process will be detailed during the New Student Orientation, please do not complete this step without guidance from us.
Step 9: Register for Courses: This process will be detailed during the New Student Orientation
APPLICATION CHECKLIST
- Read and agree to the information and expectations for HSMC
- Complete the Student Information and Parent/Guardian Information Sections
- Complete the Student Application Essay
- Complete the Parent/Guardian Questionnaire
- Submit Current Transcripts
- Students Applying for 9th Grade:
- All Middle School Transcripts
- All High School Transcripts (if applicable)
- All College Transcripts (if applicable)
- Students Applying for 10th, 11th, or 12th Grade:
- All High School Transcripts
- All College Transcripts (if applicable)
- Students Applying for 9th Grade:
- Submit Additional School Information
- Proof of Address (Must Be A Utility Bill)
- List of currently enrolled courses (at all institutions)
- Attendance Report from current school
- Discipline/Behavior Report from current school
- Standardized Test Scores (CAASPP, Private School, Out of State, if applicable)
- Gate, 504 Plan, or Individualized Education Plan (IEP) documents (if applicable)
